Florida Field to Forks Review!

Eggs, Fruit, and Veggy Share from Florida Field to Forks

Veggy shares and Fruit shares vary depending on the season and what is available. Locally grown as much as possible! This program has helped my family find a new way of eating local. Better nutrition for my growing kids.

My children enjoyed the experience of visiting the farm and seeing the horses, pigs, and chickens. Great service, and quick pickup too!
Definitely beats Walmart lol
(Although, I refrain from going there unless it's a dire emergency)

I am trying a new organic skin care line called Envy Organics, which is local as well! They had a vendor table at the Farm.

A review will be posted next week!

Forgot to mention: They are not limited to just fruits and veggies! They have Grassfed Beef,  Pork, Lamb, Chickens, Turkeys etc... I picked up some Grassfed Ground Beef too.

To find out more about Florida Field to Forks , check out their website
They have a Facebook page for members as well. Which is nice! Because, I can share photos and communicate with other members of this wonderful program!

We are definitely looking forward to being a part of Florida Field to Forks!

Almond Flour Pancakes (Paleo)

Organic Almonds (Pre-blanched)

It is best to blanch your almonds prior to flouring them. This allows your body to fully absorb the nutrients from the almonds. Nuts contain phytic acid, a compound that can hinder mineral absorption like iron and zinc. Thus, we blanch!

How to Blanch
Place almonds in a bowl.
Pour boiling water to barely cover almonds.
Let the almonds sit for 1 minute and no longer.
Drain, rinse under cold water, and drain again.
Pat dry and slip the skins off.
It is super easy !!

Ingredients for Pancakes:
3 large eggs
1/4 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons raw honey
1 1/2 cups blanched almond flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
a few tablespoons of coconut oil or grass-fed cows butter (for the skillet)

How:
Whisk together all the wet ingredients in a large bowl.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and blend well.
Heat a skillet on a low to medium heat with about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
Spoon 1 tablespoon of batter per pancake on the heated skillet.
When you can slide a spatula under the pancake easily, flip the pancake and cook on the other side.

Cook for a few more minutes and place the cooked pancakes on a warm plate and cover.
Repeat for the remaining batter.

We leave them a little longer to crisp the edges!! Mmmmmm Whatever your preference is!

Enjoy with honey!

Raw Honey Sesame Pecans

 Sweet Sesame Pecans

Oh Man!! We fell in love with these on our trip to Dubai.... We ate at a restaurant there, and this was the appetizer they served us. Instantly, we became hooked. It satisfies the sweet tooth and is packed with protein.

So I recreated this delicious recipe for my son's birthday, and it was a hit!
So Simple and Quick!!

Ingredients:
2 tsp of Organic Raw Honey
2 cups of Organic Raw Pecans
1 tbsp of Organic Sesame seeds
1 tbsp of Organic Coconut oil

Heat up the WOK to Medium, Pour coconut oil into the WOK. Then Toss in the pecans to tasted a bit (1-2 minutes) Stir them a few times while toasting. Add Sesame seeds and toast another 1 minute. (You have to stay watching these or else they burn quickly). Remove from heat, pour into a bowl. Then drizzle the raw honey onto the pecans. Mix to spread the honey onto all the pecans.

Mmmmm, you can eat them warm or save for later! Either way! These have saved me from giving into sweet junk!! lol This is my go to!!

My kids love it as well!
Enjoy!! Buen Provecho!!

Organic Roasted Bell Pepper Dressing

Our Dressing Bottle

Organic Roasted Bell Pepper Dressing

Use it to enhance the flavor of salads or pour it over grilled chicken. For whatever purpose you desire, go for it! I love this dressing on my salads or with cucumbers alone. The combinations of flavors is wonderful for the taste buds.

Ingredients:
3 Organic Red Bell Peppers, halved, deseeded
2 Organic Yellow Bell Peppers, halved, deseeded
3/4 cup Organic Red Wine Vinegar
1 Cup Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp of Celtic Sea Salt

Preheat oven's broiler to 500 and set the rack at about 6 in from the heat. Use a baking sheet to line the tray. Place halved peppers cut side down on a baking sheet. Broil until peppers are blackened and blistered, roughly 5 minutes. Remove peppers from heat and place in a bowl, cover the top to allow the steaming process to occur. Once the peppers are cool, remove the skin and discard. Place peppers in a food processor, with the remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth texture.... Enjoy !!  Buen Provecho!!
